This is a very short account of some of the crimes committed by killer couple Karla and Paul Bernardo. Two people who, separately, might not have gone as far as murder. But together, they fed off each other's depravity and in doing so, three innocent lives (that we know of) were lost.
Mr. Becker always writes with knowledge , precision and the ability to engage the reader to keep interested in whichever novel he has written.He has not disappointed with this true crime either , and gave horrific details about a deranged couple who both should have been given a death sentence.At first glance, they seem to be an average happy couple but as you learn more,there is nothing normal or average about them. I feel if these 2 had not been caught, the terror would have increased and intensified.My biggest disgust is with Karla, and how she could submit her sister to such a grotesque display of affection to Paul. She was just as guilty in my eyes and the evidence showed as much.I hope she lives the rest of her life always looking over her back , the fact that she is free and has children is sickening as well. The pain her children will go through because of the sick actions she participated in along with Paul will be unforgivable as well.Disturbing depiction of a couple that should have never met .
This is the true story of a Barbie and Ken looking couple who took sadistic pleasure in kidnapping, drugging, raping, filming and killing young, innocent teenaged girls. Their perverse sexual thoughts and actions got increasingly more bizarre.No one was safe from their clutches including the younger sister of the murderess.The author does a good job of letting the reader follow the history of their crime sprees and offenses.
If you are interested in learning about any killers, then Ryan Becker does a good job of showing you about them!I have read about Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka before, but Ryan fills in parts that I had not read before. I, even, enjoyed the CI he put into the story, it was like you were seeing what the people's thoughts might have been! The addition of the Robert Berdello story at the end was a good addition. I didn't know, really, anything much about him.Thank you for this book, Ryan!
This really isn’t a Ken and Barbie story. It’s truly horrifying and to believe that a person or person could do such horrors is beyon my comprehension.As usual, the writing was well done it. The story that really needs to be redone, it truly is too horrific. To me, Karla is as much to blame as Paul, now he does have life sentence but she is now out among us. A bit too scary for me, so glad I don’t live near her.
I Love True Crime Book's & With That Being Said I Really Liked This Book. Well Researched & Had A Ton Of Information. The Book May Be A Little Short For Some People, But I Enjoy Books That Are To The Point With Little To No Fillers Like This Book About The Ken & Barbie Killers. One Of The Sickest Couples I've Ever Read About!!!
As a little girl I played with Barbie and Ken dolls and they NEVER did the things these two did. Barbie would never give her sister to Ken must less kill her sister. These two are and will always be MONSTERS!! As for Karla you got off easy. I wish they had found those tapes before you could make a deal. Just think, someone is living next to a STONE COLD KILLER! As to you having children, I feel sadden for them, they will learn who their mother, if you can call yourself that, is.Other than that, a great read! Thanks Ryan Becker! A true fan of your books!
