Andie’s and Xandr’s lives as an outlaw. Both trying to fit in in the role that they found themselves . Both wanting the other but was uncertain of what they have until they found back in each other’s arms. But there is more adventures and mysteries to unfold and I find myself wishing that the third book is already available.
I loved this second part of this engaging and dynamic love story between a roguish, handsome aliens and the human he rescued. I can’t wait for the next installment.
Andie had come onto the ship with her rescuer the previous captain Xandr of the ship she knew that she had to show her worth so that she would be an accepted member, they seem to dance very cleverly around what is legal and illegal as they also carried some goods that were obviously being hidden away in secreted compartments on the ship.Xandr found that his second in charge had taken over the ship whilst he had been imprisoned and he knew that he had to take in this new reign, she had kept the crew and the ship ticking over and taking on new jobs that ensured the crew got paid.The crew were quite a group of mismatched characters that took some getting to know however as she did, she found them to be hard working a truly loyal to each other group and yet they also seemed to be quite secretive. Andie is also finding her attraction to Xandr as something that is growing rapidly along with the irritability she also felt as she knew he was attracted to her but seemed to be holding himself back, although with a great deal of reluctance.I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader CopyI thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Andie is still on probation it seems with most of the crew! She has still to find a niche, a job that can cement her worth to the crew and give her a permanent place on the ship. But does she really want to be part of this crew? They seem to bridge the grey between legal and illegal and Andie has no idea if she can live as a space pirate!Xandr has returned to his crew and his ship but how can he go back to being 2nd in command? His former 1st mate took over when he was imprisoned and he can't just kick her out of the chair now he's back...or can he?The mottliest crew is back! They make space fun, snarky and just a little bit naughty! With Andie and Xandr circling each other, they end up sharing a cabin but hearing their neighbours at it at all times of the day and night is playing havoc with Andie's libido. We also get to see a bit more of Xandr's past and just what is his connection to a certain Oscavian noble??!?!?!
This is such a fun read to properly enjoy it you should read the first novella before this book. Andie and Xandr are now back on his ship. However he is no longer captain after his imprisonment. New on the ship Andie just wants to prove herself to the crew. They have amazing chemistry and want each other desperately but are dancing around their attraction. Can Xandr get his job back as captain and show Andie how much he wants her? I am really enjoying this new world Kate Rudolph has created her charterers are always likable and you find yourself rooting for them to get together and overcome the odds against them. Cant wait to read the next in this series. I received an advanced copy and am leaving my honest and voluntary review.
Life for Andie Munster had not been going very well. Since she had been abducted from Earth she had been living a boring, mundane existence. Then she finds herself aiding an alien in somewhat the same circumstances and after one adventure (read Escape from Ixilta), she joins the space crew of fellow escapee Xandr. While Andie learns to help the smuggling crew, she and Xandr must also learn to relate to each other. Wonderful way of showing the combination of affection, vulnerability, protectiveness and even possessiveness that grows on their way to love. And the danger and exciting escapades make for a continuously entertaining read! I voluntarily read and reviewed a free, advance copy of this book.
Kate Rudolph's new series, Alien Outlaws, has a slight packaging problem. Rather than a series (complete books on a related theme), it is apparently a SERIAL - a progression of episodes used to tell a longer story in smaller segments. I love Kate Rudolph's action romance, I think her world building chops get better with each series she undertakes, and I like the characters of the Alien Outlaws - hero Xandr the alien, and human heroine Andie. What I don't like is being told that an episodic serial is a book series. Not in this reader-verse. TRUTH IN ADVERTISING!
This is the second book in the series and for better enjoyment I do recommend reading them in order. Andie and Xandr are back on the ship, however Xandr is no longer captain and his past is interfering with his relationship with Andie. Will they find a way to make it work? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and twists and turns. Great characters and steamy chemistry. A good sci-fi read.
